Women’s Leadership and Development Program
Returning to study as an adult is a significant life change, requiring the formation of a new identity and a level of independence and motivation to succeed. Women undergoing personal growth and change – by reflecting on their assumptions, beliefs, values and perspectives of the world – need a high level of support as they go through at least six stages before they can become independent learners. These stages may be fluid and some women may move through the phases quicker than others.
Piip 2023
Our model supports the idea that women learn better in a single-sex environment allowing them to feel more comfortable and confident when they are returning to study or work. We will design curricula and teaching strategies that are tailored to the needs of women including considering flexibility needs, childcare, time restraints and teaching styles that are more suited to the way women learn.
